This is inside the crater of Haleakela, a massive shield (& dormant for now) volcano on Maui. We were over 10,000 ft.high! It was so huge, it was just unreal...it forms 75% of the whole island! I don't mind seeing it when it's dormant...but sure don't want to be there when it awakes!!!! ☺ But it is truly a site to see....
